Shopping Tips

In Vienna you can find cheap shops, but also very exclusive establishments. There are two things you definitely have to include into your Vienna city trip: the Haas Haus and Naschmarkt.

The modern shopping complex Haas Haus is located straight across from the Stephansdom. This is the benchmark for shopping in this musical town. For more info in German, click here. In the old town centre there are also other places to go shopping, such as the Altes Rathaus with a shopping complex and also Graben.

On the other side of the inner ring there is the Mariahilferstrasse with cheaper shops. You will find little boutiques in the Spittelberg area, and don’t forget the Naschmarkt. This large market along the Karlsplatz not only sells traditional wares but it also boasts a flea market. For more info in German, click here.

The shops are open from Mon-Fri, from 9.00-18.00 hrs. On Saturdays, the shops only open in the morning, with the exception of one Saturday in the month when they stay open all day.
