Visit Stockholm from mid-June to mid-August
If you want to fully enjoy your citytrip, you must go between mid-June and mid-August. After the 15th of August the winter schedule begins. The problem with Stockholm is that before mid-June, many sights can be visited only between 11 AM and 3PM or are merely open for one hour, all of them at the same time. During our visit at the beginning of June a major attraction like Skansen looked almost dead.

Justified criticism on the Stockholm Card
We had bought a Stockholm Card right away at the travel agency. Actually we did not receive it with the rest of our travel documents and we had to pick it up at the tourist bureau. This bureau only opens at 10 AM and many were waiting in line before us. Thus we lost an hour. Moreover, many of these advantages were “closed”, the rest was more or less free and for the “must do” attractions like the Vasamuseum we had to pay anyway, we only got a small discount. We’ll never do it again!
