Madrid: hot as hell in August
If you want to know how hot hell is, just try Madrid in August. Every day temperatures above 35 degrees C° in the shade and at night they hardly go down. And don’t think that there’s air-conditioning everywhere, because that’s not the case. We wanted to go to Toledo but they discouraged us, apparently it was even hotter there.

The Royal Palace is sometimes closed
According to the travelling guides, the Royal Palace in Madrid is something not to miss. When we prepared our city trip to Madrid, we had checked on the website and planned it in our trip. We you decided to visit, it appeared to be closed because of the official visit of an important guest. We did not see on the website that it would be closed on that day. Since we had planned it for our last day, there was nothing more we could do. THUS always plan your visit for your first day, if it’s closed you can always try the day after.
