London Eye metro: Waterloo To mark the millennium a giant wheel was built near Westminster Bridge, measuring 135 m in height and offering spectacular panoramic views across London. Very appropriately this wheel has been named the " The London Eye". Its official name is "The British Airways London Eye" because British Airways was the driving force behind and sponsor of this millennium construction. With a good 3.5 million visitors a year it is currently the number one attraction in Great Britain and the second biggest attraction in Europe. Step aboard one of the 32 hi-tech capsules, each capable of carrying 25 passengers, for an unforgettable 30-minute ride, with commentary, which takes you through a 360-degree rotation. The panoramic views of London are the same as you would get from a Helicopter.
London Aquarium metro: Waterloo In County Hall there are sharks swimming around in a 3 million-litre water tank. Just about the entire population of the world’s oceans is here. This is one of the largest aquariums in Europe on three levels, in a fantastic building dating from the turn of the century. It lies on the bank of the river Thames, right opposite Big Ben. You will feel like a fish in water, thanks to the music, the sound of water and the smells of the sea.
