City-break Amsterdam
|
Not to be missed during your 2-day stay Day 1 The very first thing you need to do when you visit Amsterdam is take a boat ride on the canals. It is the only way to get a perfect view of the city and its houses. You are given a lot of information and tips for your further visit and you can spend the rest of the day in what we call 'the old town'. Visit the shopping streets, flower market and other excellent points of interest. Don't visit the Anne Frank House just yet. Instead, take some time to take a walk down the 'Walletjes', Amsterdam's red light district. It's an experience day or night. Day 2 Start your day with a visit to the Anne Frank House. Remember that long queues are possible. To avoid the crowds, try and get there half an hour before opening time. The Museum Quarter, with the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum (National Museum for Art and History) and Stedelijk Museum (City Museum) will keep you busy for the rest of the day. Or maybe you prefer to see how real Amsterdammers live? Then the Houseboat Museum and the Museum van Loon are some interesting alternatives.
