Andalusia

Andalusia is a region crammed with breathtaking countryside, rich art and stunning architecture. There are the beautiful beaches at the sunny Costa del Sol and Costa de Almeria, the rocky headland of Gibraltar, the impressive mountain tops of the Sierra Nevada, the Moorish splendour of the cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada, the charming "pueblos blancos" or white villages such as Ronda... Andalusia is the place for fiestas, processions, sparkling flamenco and sherry from Jerez de la Frontera.

Cordoba is more than the mosque
I was so disappointed during an organized tour. Cordoba was on the program. The bus stopped close to the mosque and the whole group went in. A guide rambled on details for an hour and a half and then we went back on the bus. I would have loved to go for a walk through the Jewish quarter. Never again will I let a guide decide for me.

Do not visit the Alhambra during the summer
That’s the least I can say. I had already visited the Alhambra during a tour in the autumn, but I wanted to visit it more thoroughly. We had organized a tour with friends during the month of July with a rental car. We had bought tickets for the Alhambra on the Internet and we thought that nothing could go wrong. But it turned out overcrowded and incredibly hot. A real bummer! After an hour, we left.
